Comments Thread For: Briggs Feels Haye in Decline: He Was a Better Fighter Before

When veteran American Shannon Briggs fights David Haye in September, he will cap a remarkable recovery from a time in which he contemplated suicide. It will have been almost 10 years to the night he last won a world title, and six since he last fought an opponent of such class.

Briggs is right. Haye looks a lot slower which has affected his timing. he misses punches he wouldn't have before and this is against bums. It will be more noticeable when he steps in the ring with better opposition.

No, it looks like the same haye ko'ing everything in sight. We just don't k ow if he can last 12 rounds now with added bulk and lay off.

I think hate coulfpd fight four another 10 years. No mileage on clock and only 20 something fights, not many more than Joshua in fact

Briggs is right, and even in his prime he could beat the Klitschko's

Impossible to tell when you're fighting a guy who had to catch a train to the Arena after pulling a double shift at the docks

Lol whoever said he could beat the K brothers in his prime is nuts. Wladimir fights too smart (scared) but with power, and Vitali unearths him at any age. And they said the reason he didn't get any money for the Vitali fight is because he declined the medical pre-fight and racked up some nutso amount from his stay and tests (which still sounds like typical BS overpricing by the lovely health care system). His own promoter and manager screwed him out of the rest and only paid themselves. Sad as these suits are, he needed people that are looking out for him. Haymon would actually be good for him. Hope they pick him up.

Hard to judge Haye due to the level of his comeback opponents, but I'm sure he is still 99% better than briggs

This Briggs looks better than the fat Briggs that fought Vitali. Fat Briggs was SLOW.

Haha INDEED! If he can get his cardio right, he might be fun to watch.
