McCallum took tough fights and thats why eventually got recognition. fought other guys people ducked like Sumbu Kalambay who is very underrated. Most of his big fights he was in, he was past prime.

I hope you are right about things happening for GGG that way.
different times when you had no social media and alot more tv options i.e pbc hbo etc.,. times have changed since the 80s bruh

Can the mods do something about the abundance of GGG threads already? I swear his detractors are as bad as the Floyd detractors were. Remember the time when you couldn't go five minutes without seeing a new Floyd thread which more or less regurgitated the same crap that was mentioned in the 10,000 threads before it? That's what is going now only with GGG. For fucks sake.

You're either parroting Donturd like a sheep incapable of an original thought of your own or you are that fat, marbled mouth piece of ****.

LOL @ slipping Pryor in there. Fighters who are avoided like the plague don't regularly turn down fights (I can count three off the top of my head.)

no ***** but my point is instead of his team and fans complaining about him being ducked and giving him credit for fights that didnt happen, he went to other fighters back yards(Herol Graham, Kalambay,Mike Watson) fought undefeated punchers(julian jackson) and an advanced age to prove his greatness

GGG has been elevated to a point that he is great without ever having proven it. We want to see it in the ring.

team ggg has not taken every fight offered or fought everyone who called them out unless you're that naive.

none of us were in the room with pryor, GGG, Burley or the other guys.

Well then I rest my case.

it's funny you mention Aaron Pryor because he's another guy who stayed in one division his entire career and only had one big fight against a guy coming up in weight. And he's still considered a HOF talent and ATG fighter.

He don't have to move up be he can't be Picky either especially when his Promotion clearly don't have the money to throw around to get ANYONE to come fight him like King had for Mike Tyson so even though Tyson was scary and intimidating, they had no problem finding opponents because Don King paid his opponents very well

K2 and HBO will have to do the same. I will be honest and I said it when they announced exclusive deals for GGG and Kovalev, I don't see how it benefits them being exclusive like that, if anything it will and it has limited their earning potential. Imagine if both was Free to bounce around and take the best fights Freely without having to worry about pleasing HBO? GGG would be getting much bigger paydays!

Abel Sanchez has been running his mouth and making declarations since GGG hit HBO. MR. 154-175 They have turned down fights like everyone else, for whatever reasons, yet he gets a pass for having a thin resume against elite opponents, yet the same people who play damage control for him, trash fighters who are more accomplished and fought better opposition.

Mike McCallum was avoided by one of the most famous groups of fighters of all time. Duran, Leonard, Hagler and Hearns. He didnt whine, no one made excuses for him, he fought other top fighters like Sumbu Kalambay and James Toney, moved up in weight and actually won titles from 154,160, and 175

guys like Charley Burley, Aaron Pryor, Holman Williams and dozens of other fighters were avoided like the plague but no one made excuses for them

want to talk about avoided.....Hagler didnt get a title fight until 50 fights in whereas GGG is 35 fights in and 2/3 belts that he holds he didnt even win in the ring. He was happy to sit their and be elevated with fighting anyone

GGG is a good fighter but how long are you guys gonna ride that "wont nobody fight him horse" when Mike McCallum was ducked by better fighters, still had a hall of fame resume and actually won titles from 154-175? He fought on until he was 40 because his big fights didnt come until he was past prime. The same happened to Archie Moore. Who was avoided at his best.
The position team GGG is in is that GGG is rated among the top three best pound for pound boxers in the world by every respected boxing writer or group of boxing writers who rank boxers. Many of them rank him number one. That includes Boxing Scene HBO, Ring Magazine, Boxrec, ESPN, and EVERYBODY ELSE. They all rank him higher than your beloved Andre Ward. Their opinions carry a lot more weight than your hate filled, bias opinion does. GGG could retire today and without a doubt be a first ballet inductee in the Hall of Fame and there isn't a thing you can do about it. Why are you so pathetically desperate to convince Boxing Scene that GGG doesn't deserve the praise he gets? Are you so ****** that you don't understand that GGG haters already agree with you and not a single GGG fan will change their mind because of the idiotic garbage you post about him. You start thread after annoy thread unfairly and untruthfully trashing this great fighter. You are so desperate to try to make GGG look bad that you bring up great fighters from the past 70 years that have nothing to do with him. Why is it so important to you that this forum hates GGG as much as you do? Give your bull**** GGG hate threads a rest and let Boxing Scene members form their own opinion about him because they will anyway. GGG is an undefeated and rightfully respected star and all your winning and crying won't change that fact.
