Comments Thread For: Upset Alert: Andrew Hernandez Outclasses Magomedov

In what has to go down as one of the biggest upsets of 2016, Andrew Hernandez turned in a career-best performance in a stunningly dominant 10-round win over previously unbeaten Arif Magomedov.

Scores were 100-89 (twice) and 98-91 in favor of Hernandez in their middleweight main event battle Saturday evening at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hernandez has been stopped by a light puncher, so Magomedov may not have a lot of power. At any rate, he fought like a fighter who thought he had some pop, but he needs to throw that gameplan out the window.

As for the announcers, whoever the goofball with the cowboy hat was stumbling through the evening, he needs to go. Worst ever commentator. Came across like some clueless hillbilly. After a couple rounds of that charade, I turned the volume off.

Gracias,Hernandez. He found tie to train even though he is a full-time landscaper and it is a tiring job.

Ummm, wtf happened in this fight? I didn't see it.

This really should have been a walkover for Magomedev. Not that he can't come back from a defeat like this, but still... the ****?

Magomedov TKOed Boone.. didnīt see the fight but somethingīs not right. Either Magomedov was sick or injured or he heard Golovkin mentioning his name.

Hernandez showed a hell of a lot of heart and determination to do everything he can turn make something out of his career and did so tonight. Damn good fighter, thinking fighter. Easy to get behind him and support him....he helps others outside the ring. Cant ask for anything more.

Styles make fights and history is littered with examples of lighter hitters getting stoppages over guys who held up to bigger punchers. Plus, he has fought bigger men than Mag.

Like I said I didnīt see it.. but if it was just Hernandez fighting the fight of his life, good for him. I hope he now has a chance to train like a full time pro to see what heīs got.
