Former world title challenger Dierry Jean (29-2-1 20KO) dodged a bullet Friday night managing a 76-74, 74-76, 75-75 split draw after hitting the canvas twice in the fourth round versus Ricky Sismundo (30-9-3 13KO) of Japan. Each fighter threw and landed similtaneous right hands but Jean felt far more tumbling to canvas and having problems initially rising to his feet. The hometown fighter tumbled into the corner and was dropped later in the round as he struggled. Sismundo was able to match the speed of Jean, usually a clear advantage in most of his previous fights. Jean who spent the last half of fight with a left eye almost shut fought gamely and managed to land, but his shots seemed to have little effect on the visitor who answered back on everything thrown his way.
