  • Comments Thread For: Paul Smith Makes a Successful Return With TKO Win

Paul Smith made a successful return to the ring in the North West. The pundit moved to 36-6 (21 KOs) and improved his record after 11 months out of the ring in the opening fight on the undercard of Anthony Crolla's WBA lightweight title defence against Ismael Barroso, which will be screened on Sky Sports, at the Manchester Arena.

Pointless fight, as expected. He shouldn't be fighting guys with 18-18 records at this stage in his career.

After this momentous win I hop to see him challenging for another title next. He's proved he's world level.

Ah damn, beat me to it. Great minds think alike.

Fighters that became champions after Ward beat them:

Mikkel Kessler defeated Froch for WBC
Carl Froch defeated Bute for IBF
Arthur Abraham defeated Stieglitz for WBO
Sakio Bika defeated Periban for vacant WBC
            Paul Smith ???

This sums boxing up though, we don't have proper levels because guys would rather stroke their ego and try and keep their 0 by fighting guys who have no hope.

Good case would be this guy Martin Murray is fighting right now.

It's pathetic. This Crolla bill is one of the worst shows Hearn's ever staged.

                  Hater's gonna hate.

Smith was fighting a guy who was 18-18, that means he's won 50% of his fights, which means Smith had only a 50% chance of winning, which means this was a 50-50 fight. So it was actually a good fight, tough fight.

                  Calm down, i'm joking.
