From what I've seen of Hughie Fury so far (which isn't much), I like. I like his footwork. He moves well for a man his size. He doesn't seem to possess big power, but he possesses good boxing skill at his age.

He did kind of come off in his last fight like he was forced into the business though. He seemed like he didn't want to be there, and didn't look like he was working very hard.

If I'm wrong about that, he may be a future contender.

I'm not sure what to make of him. He's looked in full control of every fight I've seen him in without ever being truly impressive. Worth remembering that he's 21 years old and has amassed a record of 20-0 mixing with some experienced guys. Joshua was still 2 years from a pro debut at that age. I'm not convinced but he's worth keeping an eye on.

I'd love to see him fight Dillian White or David Price but I don't see those happening any time soon.

He wasn't ready for Kassi. Heavyweights peak later than flies, so yeah. A 22 year old heavy is a baby, he has time.

Technically Peter has trained him well technically with what hes got, he boxes well off the back foot, but he needs to be first with some straight rights, uppercuts, and vary the counters. The big looping rights never seem to land, and look very basic.

Dang, was that the cut he sustained in the Kassi fight? Being there live, we couldn't see it. Felt like a shitty end to a lacklustre fight, but that looks proper narrsty.

That eye probably could stand some extra time on the sidelines.

I can't get on the Hughie Fury bandwagon like I got on the Tyson Fury bandwagon. I can't often get behind a HW who can't KO the caliber of guys he's been fighting more often then not unless they are amazing boxers. And Hughie seems fairly stiff & slow to me. Plus for a guy who's gonna need a great defense or ability to avoid punches since he can't really KO the better guys I see little that will keep him from eating big shots that'll hurt him. When he's fighting guys who can KO him its gonna be disturbingly apparent how limited his skills are & he'll probably be winning some fights til a guy takes him out late. Him being super young for a HW is the one big advantage he has that could allow him to increase his power & improve his defense, but I suspect his ceiling is close to being reached already so idk how much better he'll get honestly.
