  • Comments Thread For: Canelo Doubts Khan Will Switch Style, Create a Boring Fight

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has dismissed the notion of feeling under pressure at being Mexico's leading fighter during 'Cinco de Mayo' week in Las Vegas. The WBC middleweight champion, who makes the first defence of his title against Amir Khan at the new T-Mobile Arena on Saturday at a catchweight of 155lbs, has inherited the role of being the proud boxing nation's leading fight figure.

I know right, getting knocked down in boxing is horrible, even if the fighter gets up he loses 2pts (minimum) in the rd. I understand it can happen but the way it was phrased it was like its expected from him and praised lol

My problem with the statement is that they're trying to make it seem like some massive thing that Amir get's up when knocked down. He isn't the most difficult guy to hurt, so he wont be the hardest to knock down. It's like Saul knows he has a massive advantage over Amir and will likely knock him out, so he's trying to make us think that when Amir gets up after the first knockdown, it'll be some heroic event.

Canelo better be careful or he may get his face peppered with jabs much like he did when he fought Mayweather. And we all know he doesn't particularly take well to face shots. Canelo rarely commits to trading much for this very reason. Go back and watch some of his previous fights. One or two good facial shots and he de-commits. If someone ever connects a hard shot on canelos melon, I think we will all see a different fighter. Maybe that's why he hesitates to take a challenge from GGG.

So what you're saying Cinderella is that your footwork and ability to cut the ring off, everything you claim you're good at, will be nonexistent Saturday night? If that's the case, I could see why you're afraid of GGG!
