Comments Thread For: Crolla on Barroso: I Have The Fear of One Punch Taking Me Out

Anthony Crolla says he's ready for the toughest fight of his career against Ismael Barroso in Manchester next weekend. Crolla is back in his hometown on May 7, live on Sky Sports, to make the first defence of the WBA lightweight title he took from Darleys Perez with a stinging body punch back in November.

It's a good idea to have a healthy fear of Barroso's power. That way he won't underestimate him.

Forget that, If he lands solid, nothing will stop it. I always said a one punch KO is better than a 12 round beating. Don't dwell on that, think about taking him into deep water, Barroso isn't used to it and he's no spring chicken.

The fear is real. I can't see him winning this but i hope he does. He's a likable guy.

To me, this is a role model. He could have taken an easier route, but chose honor over lucre. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Yeah according to Hearn, Crolla was agging him for Barroso straight after he demolished and retired Kevin Mitchell. He's not one to shy away from a challenge that's for sure.

I like the way he carries himself, the way he frames his speech. Any talk of fear is normally taboo, but not when a guy is going to face it, conquer it. He knows the penalty, now get with a plan. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
