Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder-Alexander Povetkin To Have VADA Testing

Andrei Ryabinsky, promoter for Olympic gold medal winner and former WBA champion Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22KOs), is planning to use VADA [Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency] for the mandatory showdown against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35KOs).

        He has to take it.
Though, WBC doesn't enforce a strict and longer schedule for VADA testing.

Should satisfy both parties, VADA is an independent organization with a good reputation. Transparency is important, especially with the Lucas Browne debacle in mind. Fans need to able to maintain the idea that wilder and Povetkin are on an even playing field and that Wilder can travel 'safely'.

They can be trusted and recognized by the World Anti-Doping Agency," Ryabinsky said.
They're not actually. VADA isn't a WADA signatory.

Excellent news. It's good that they will have a level playing field. May the best man win.

Probably in the same place as that moron that claimed Wilder would duck Povetkin or never travel to Russia.
