Which is why they should at least unify their rankings. It would streamline things, even with multiple belts out there. Each org's #1 ranked fighter would simply wait their turn, like what (pretty much) happened in Wladimir's reign.
It'd be a good idea if they could sort out the rematch policies, too. Yes, Glazkov and Martin were contenders, but they should've simply been made to wait in fucking line a bit longer while the champs decide things once and for all. This was historic, groundbreaking stuff taking place, but the IBF had to go and essentially taint Martin's stock by rushing to get their belt on him.Comment

How were they gonna negotiate when Duva filed for the mandatory immediately and refused to negotiate with Hennessey? Maybe if Fury would've told them beforehand he signed an immediate rematch clause something could've been worked out. If they would've broken their rules they would've been sued by Duva. Why do people act like Fury didn't break the rules and Duva didn't force the mandatory? The IBF did their job. Fury broke the rules and Duva had him stripped.Stripping Tyson after a week for beating Vlad was not the way to go about things, they could have at least negotiated for it to be his first defense after the rematch. Its obvious they wanted a different champion so they didn't have to wait in turn for sanctioning fees.
Compared to the WBA the IBF look like choir boys, i cant see Tyson abiding by any of the belts mandatory's for long, and expect him to give up more belts in the future .Comment

Exactly. But they're using the unification excuse to justify fighting the Wade's of the world while they wait on a big payday. He's had plenty of opportinities to force the mandatory but he keeps agreeing to delay it. People will ***** about the IBF, say they have terrible rankings, but mention GGG is fighting Wade & suddenly the IBF becomes relevant.Comment

How nice Tyson but IBF gave him no chance and I fully understand why he feels this way.The IBF not doing their job or making any sense i'm sure they had their fees for the first fight and if so why not do the job right and look at the future terms and if not right don't sanction or take any fees.Comment

The IBF was just going by their rulebook. Say what you want about them but they always follow their laws to the letter which is more than can be said about the rest of the alphabet groups.
If you want to blame someone blame Kathy Duva for not wanting to work something out with Fury. All she cared about was getting a paper title for her guy Glazkov, luckily that plan backfired on her in the end. Karma.Comment

It seems Fury couldn't even have kept the title if he wanted to, with the Klitschko contract and all. The IBF devalued the title with their own policy. Kind of ridiculous how the orgs pass around titles anyway, given the current, legit real HW champion really only holds the WBO. The winner of Fury-Vlad so much needs to fight Wilder/Pov.
Bingo !!
A lesson for the kids...... in business, and in life..... no matter how much time/effort you spend developing your policies and procedures, never forget to factor in some common-sense willya.
The Ring are just as bad, by religiously naming the lineal guy as champ.
Their MW champ, has never fought a middleweight opponent, ever.
A round-table discussion involving knowledgeable boxing guys > inaccurate policies that are set-in-stone..... seriously, how fkn amateur can you get.Comment
