people dont like to include resume when a fighter they like has one that is lacking.

Resume is side by side with techical skills and eye test....anyone with decent talent can look like a world beater fighting cans and taxi drivers...should they be considered p4p too...dominating cans?

People in here are gonna hate you for stating that fact. They are very primitive. Things doesn't have to make sense, it just has to suit their agenda.

Wilder looks great against trashcans, gets bashed.
Louis/Robinson/Golovkin looks greats against trashcans, gets praised.
Wilder needs great wins and it gets brought up constantly.
Louis/Robinson/Golovkin has no great wins and it's an offense to even mention it.

They have to make up their minds about the criterias by which they judge the prowess of fighters.

the inconsistency is why its so hard to have a decent boxing convo on this forum

Wilder is in the same position GGG is....he is a titleholder, who has not faced the champion but is a highly ranked contender

nothing more or less....bet you wont see wilder on a top ten heavyweights of the last 10 years....or any list...why? RESUME MATTERS

        • Anyone defending GGG being top 25 of the last 25 is simply doing so because they like him. Given the facts, resume and skill, GGG is not top 50 of the last 25 years. GGG is a supremely skilled fighter in todays climate of competition, but we bring resume into the conversation because that aids us in gauging how he would fair against other great fighters of the past 25 years. It's easy to look impressive and pass the eye test when punching a heavy bag, but how would GGG fair against halfway decent competetion? Up until this point he has literally fought Domino delivery drivers. What information is that giving me about his skill set? That he looks good against guys who shouldn't be proffesional fighters? Fights against guys like Lara, DeGale, Ward, Jacobs, Trout would tell us a lot more than fights against Ishida, Monroe, Rosado, Lemuix and Wade. Anyone arguing against that is a complete idiot.

It should hold a lot of weigh cause how good is a guy really if he's never been tested. He's not above Sergio or Bradley at all

            • Sergio Martinez had a far better resume than Golovkin and only an idiot would argue otherwise. Personally, I think a prime Martinez would have beat up Golovkin pretty badly.

The Sergio that decapitated P. Will would do quite the number on GGG in my opinion. If GGG had the scalps of Mora and Trout (GGG beats both imo) on his resume, I'd have a lote more to consider.

I'll disagree with this all day. If Wilder had half the technical ability that Golovkin does. You may have a point, but he does'nt. If Wilder looked like the second coming of Lennox Lewis, I would praise him the same way I do GGG, but again, he does'nt. Wilder is an exciting fighter that I love to watch fight, but from a skill level perspective, he is'nt even in the same galaxy as GGG.
