David Haye's inability to secure a showdown with Lucas Browne for the WBA World title could benefit Germany's Michael Wallisch.

The undefeated contender has told ranFIGHTING.de that is one of the fighters who has been offered terms for a fight against Haye at London's O2 Arena on May 21 and it is now merely a matter of both sides agreeing to them should Haye push on with that option.

According to Boxrec he's ranked #72 in the world and #8 in Germany.

Sounds like a typical Toebreaker opponent to me, i bet the lads who have already purchased tickets are over the moon with this news.

Haye took 4 years off. He needs at least 2 more fights of this caliber before fighting anybody good.

If that's the case, why is he trying to line up Lucas Browne?

Browne is ranked #8 in the world, going from that to the #73 seems like a bit of a jump in quality.

I see he's ranked no.8 by the WBO. I understand Haye is trying to shake off the rust progressively, but theres fighters like Tarver, Briggs and Teper who are ranked quite highly by the WBA which seem more logical, and probably test him just as much (or just as little)

Why? Vitali fought Samuel Peter for the WBC title for his first fight back after four years off with injuries. Haye's choices of opponents are truly shameful.

Vitali was guaranteed a title-shot instantly by the WBC though. Haye doesn't have that privilege. If he did, he'd go after Wilder right now, pretty sure of it
