Tyson has good reasons to endorse Trump; the two of them go way back. In the 1980's Trump used to promote and host several Tyson fights at his Atlantic City casinos, making multimillions in revenue. Trump even tried to prevent Tyson from going to prison in 1992, as he actually made a proposal that Mike walk free and that in return earnings from his fight with Holyfield (which was being negotiated before Mike went to jail instead) go to Desiree Washington and other victims of ****. He stated to the newspaper Newsday at the time:

'As everybody knows, I am very strong on the death penalty and for the strongest of sanctions and hardest of disciplines for anyone," Trump said in an interview with Newsday at the time. "But far more people can be helped by allowing the tremendous sums of money from his fights to be put into funds used for **** victims.'
