This doesn't just affect the WBC there's other amateur sanctioning bodies and athletes that are hurt by this rule. Some athletes can't afford to always travel long distances to fight in USA boxing sanctioned events. That's where other options allow them to have fights.

AIBA's 'pro fights' actually succumbed... They need to preserve some dominant influence over the pure 'amateur sector'...

The WBC spitting out their dummy because corrupt WBC officials have no influence in the new openings within amateur boxing

The WBC fail to realise that a lot of the intrigue of having pro's in the AIBA is the lack of corrupt sanctioning bodies such as the WBC. The fact they are having such trouble accepting this harsh reality is really a condemning reflection on the WBC itself.

AIBA is corrupt to the core itself. They need to stick to amateur boxing and stay the hell away from the pros.

The first time where the WBC is actually making sense. Letting pros in the Olympics is a joke.

Pros play in the Olympics in other sports. Why not boxing too?

Granted there are issues with pro boxing's setup vs amateur boxing's setup, but beyond that who gives a ****.

The Olympics is about the best vs the best (pro or amateur) from all over the world in some sports already. This best amateur bs has never made sense to me in particular cuz most if not all of these amateurs are getting money on some level any damn way. The whole concept of a 24 year old (or just a 20 or 30 something) man competing in a competitive sport that requires hours of training a day without being paid is one of the dumbest concepts out there in athletics today on top of all that. So if they are paying people anyway why not get the best people getting paid in there?

If I boxed under another amateur sanctioning body besides USA boxing and they found out about it they won't allow me to compete. Why are they allowed to circumvent their own rules.? They're proving themselves to be a corrupt and as money hungry as any of these ABCs
