Pacquiao said, Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 will be one of his biggest challenges

Unfortunately for fight legend Manny Pacquiao, he, unlike Floyd Mayweather, selected a difficult opponent for his presumed swan song.

Tim Bradley is really a motivated, hungry best pound-for-pound fighter in their prime who'd love just to be a star like Manny.

Brads has everything to win and zilch to lose while Pacquiao has almost no to gain by defeating Tim... again.

Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 will likely be one of the biggest challenges in Manny's career currently.

Not only is he going to fighting a great, hungry opponent who's red hot, he'll be fighting in my ballet shoes with an untested surgically-repaired shoulder while embroiled inside a difficult senate race, all while reeling from your backlash of any hostile media and lost sponsors.

The degree of opposition, shoulder repair, senate campaign, media, public and sponsors.... Whew, which is a lot of drama.

And in addition, his next fight is suppossed to become farewell celebration of sorts.

Manny's first mistake: He really should have signed to address a fella like Andre Berto or Victor Ortiz. Bradley may be the wrong opponent for just a legend to face within his last fight. And all of the drama, naturally, causes it to become worse.

Given where he is in their career, the 37 year old must have opted to look at a page out from the 'Floyd Mayweather' playbook. Hence, he really should be facing a rather safe fighter for his final fight. There will be no shame in Manny Pacquiao, after having a career of facing and defeating boxing's best, putting up with an opponent that's fairly marketable but limited against him stylistically.

But instead, the truly amazing Pacquiao, who's going to be recovering from a physical injury and presumably already has one foot away from boxing, will unnecessarily be given a stern test come April.

Manny's second mistake: The rawness of his gay comments. Manny must have respectfully expressed his opposition to gay marriage while insisting he loved and respected everyone. Period. As a celebrity and public servant, she needs to have known much better than to be so crude.

For years, Manny has profited from a lot of sponsors, including Nike, who've gay customers. And for years, Manny may be an elected public servant, representing straight and LGBT constituents.

    Is PacMan still that raw?

One must wonder what is going on through his mind. Even HBO hinted immediately it would experienced second thoughts about airing Manny's fight had they'd not already contractually agreed.

"We provide an obligation to both fighters and, therefore, will go to produce and distribute that event,” HBO said within a statement, as reported by USA Today.

“However, we felt it crucial that you leave no uncertainty about our position on Mr. Pacquiao’s recent comments toward the ***** community. We consider them insensitive, offensive and deplorable.

“HBO has become a proud the place to find many ***** stories and couldn’t approach the wedding without clearly voicing our opinion.”

Retirement, the Senate along with the Olympics
Last fall, Pacquiao announced his intentions to retire from boxing following his April 9 showdown with Tim Bradley, insisting he needed to further his political career.

But can Manny, as being a politician, survive his drama?

He's now struggling with the polls. According to the recent Pulse Asia survey, Pacquiao suffered a 12 percent drop (46.9% to 34.8%) in voter support from January to February. Is it linked to his comments? Who knows - But support is fizzling regardless the explanation.

.... And now there's talk Pacquiao might get involved in the Olympics?
Given the shoulder injury causing all of the drama he's managing outside the ring, Manny must be focusing his image issues, politics and also a darn good opponent that is determined to knock him out April 9.

Forget the Olympics, Manny. You have enough to take into account in the present.

If Manny Pacquiao defeats Tim Bradley and would it impressively, it could quite easily be considered one of his biggest career achievements as of yet considering everything he's managing. Get Pacquiao vs Bradley Tickets

Pacquiao is a better fighter than the excellent fighter Bradley. He proved that beyond a REASONABLE doubt twice already in the ring. However this 3rd fight is different because Bradley is many years younger than Pacquiao and still in his late prime while Pacquiao is well past his prime. The challenge for Pacquiao is to beat an excellent and prime Bradley when he is maybe 6 years past his prime. I think Pacquiao can still beat Bradley but it's no sure thing.

I compared their records on boxrec. Pacquiao is rated 1st at 147 while Bradley is rated 3rd at 147. Pacquiao is 37 years old and Bradley is almost 5 years younger at 32 years old. Pacquiao turned pro in January 1995 and has had 65 pro fights and fought 411 rounds and been stopped 3 times. Bradley turned pro in August 2004 and has had 36 pro fights and fought 275 rounds and has never been stopped. Bradley has the advantage of being almost 5 years younger with less wear and tear on his body from fights. Pacquiao's advantage is all things being equal he is a better fighter than Bradley. The question is if he is enough better to overcome the advantages Bradley will have in this third fight. I think he is but we will all find out soon.
