Comments Thread For: Robinson Castellanos: I Gave It My All In Escandon Loss

Early on, it looked as if the journey of, well, journeyman turned fringe contender Robinson Castellanos was on course for an interim world title victory. He'd knocked Oscar Escandon down in the second round of their fight at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C.

He was in control until that headbutt happened. Glad he made no excuses. It shows that he has heart. But that headbutt took a lot out of him.

His nose was broken on top of creating a cut. But that's part of the game. Give him credit for lasting so long.

Escandon earned a lot of respect. I didn't expect that from him. Can't wait till he gets Russell.

As for Robinson. How bout a rematch with Rios? Or fights with Jo Jo Diaz or Julian Ramirez?

He was winning dropped Escandon then the headbutt happened and it did a lot of damage to him and he never recovered. The fight completely changed after the butt. Bad luck but that's boxing.
