Comments Thread For: Hunter Not Impressed With Canelo's Power, Streak of Wins

Virgil Hunter, the trainer for British star Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs), gets his second crack at Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs).

Back in March of 2014, Hunter was in the corner of junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo - who took a beating from Canelo for ten rounds before the fight was waved off.

Hunter has a point. Canelo's power is overrated, but the problem is even a light punching Algieri was able to stagger Khan with a few good shots.

If Canelo gets lucky he might pull it off, but khans speed and boxing brain, should be more than enough to get a decision.

Khan has speed, I give you that, but he really has no boxing brain, at all.

Hunter makes a good point. In the Cotto fight, Alvarez had an older, smaller guy in front of him and still couldn't stop him.
Alvarez is overrated but Hunter's Khan-job even more so.

It maybe overrated relative to the weight where he is a champion. But should be more than enough to put welterweight to sleep.
