Comments Thread For: Lundy: Gamboa Outboxed Crawford For Seven Rounds!

The junior welterweight contender isn't overly impressed with Crawford's resume, though. Lundy feels the undefeated Crawford has received more credit than he deserves for victories over Dierry Jean, Thomas Dulorme, Ray Beltran, Ricky Burns, Andrey Klimov, Alejandro Sanabria and Breidis Prescott. Crawford stopped Jean, Dulorme and Sanabria, and won wide decisions against Beltran, Burns, Klimov and Prescott.

Lundy needs to understand that Gamboa is a verry talented good fighter so if course he gave even Crawford some problems but Crawford never was in real danger.

And that would matter if the fight was only 7 rounds...Gamoba is a very good boxer probably better than anyone Lundy has in his resume

Lets be honest, if it wasn't for the massive size difference (Crawford is bigger than Floyd last I remember and gamboa should have never step foot at 135.) Gamboa looked like he would have starched Crawford. He was really putting it on him and was making him look bad. Gamboa seemed the better fighter by far until the size and strength just started overwhelming him.

Lundy isn't in either class though so who cares what he says?

Doesn't matter, Lundy is not on that level.

My doubts about Crawford remain, Gamboa was outboxing him pretty easily, was the better fighter and even rocked him badly with one punch, but as the fight progressed he was clearly too small for a guy that will be at 147 soon.

More like 4 rounds, but it's irrelevant because Lundy isn't as good as Gamboa.

I hope Lundy isn't looking at Gamboa for ways he can exploit Crawford because I doubt he can replicate any of Gamboa's technique.

Gamboa is an elite boxer and naturally much faster than Crawford (also in part because he was much smaller).

If Gamboa hadn't pushed so much trying to get a stoppage of some sort, he might have won a sound decision in that fight. He started off perfectly but instead of easing up on the gas pedal he over extended himself against a much bigger, stronger, and very calculating fighter.

All that said I think Crawford is a fantastic fighter, not trying to take anything away from Bud. I think he'd probably beat Gamboa 4 out of every 5 times.

Gamboa could have been one of the best of this era if he would have been managed more properly. The guy had special talent. No shame in being out boxed by him. Also I disagree that he won 7 rounds.
