    A few days ago, BoxingScene.com reported that Mexican welterweight Pablo Cesar Cano (29-4-1, 21KOs) was a leading candidate to face Lucas 'Machine' Matthysse as part of the HBO Pay-Per-View undercard for Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's defense of the WBC middleweight world title against British superstar Amir 'King' Khan. The event is happening n May 7th at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    He would definitely make it hard for Lucas, but I doubt he can win. He would have to fight a perfect fight to do so and given Cano's style it highly unlikely he could fight a perfect fight.

      and the size, cano is a huge dude. He beat teh **** out of paulie but got robbed.

      I have too questions about this bout,

      1) is cano size gonna be too much for a now seems faded Lucas, cause cano is a big dude with real power.

      or

      2) will cano face not hold up to lucas power cause cano has that baby face type of skin where he cuts extermely easy and swells real easy, I can see a premature stoppage to favor lucas in this fight.

        Feels like Golden Boy has been desperately trying to build up Cano into the next big thing.

        He's had 3 high profile fights, all against fighters with big names who were past their prime, and he came up short in all of them. Morales stopped him (on cuts), I thought he beat Malignaggi, but he then lost to Mosley. Now he's getting Matthysse. You gotta think that this is probably his last chance.
