Comments Thread For: Khan: Canelo Deal Was So Smooth, Finalized Within Days

British star Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) says the negotiations for his upcoming fight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) was very easy to get done.

Khan moves up by eight pounds to challenge Canelo for the WBC middleweight world title at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

I agree. It was an easy deal because Khan was the fish they needed to lure in. Whatever he wanted they gave him, unlike Mayweather and Pacquiao who held all the cards.

I'm sure Canelo's team is giving Khan a great pay day because this will be the easiest "name" to beat down without too much of a threat.

I read somewhere that Amir Khan will receive $6m and none of the PPV money for taking this fight. He would have got at least double fighting Kell Brook but said the deal "wasn't good enough".

Khan has amicable relationship with Hoya and Haymon. Even when he was pursuing Mayweather, Khan was in constant touch with Haymon.

In contrast, Lara and his manager just tweet. They claim they wanted GG, but we don't even know if they have consulted with Haymon. They just tweet. We also found out that Loeffler responded to their tweet and asked to be contacted. Decubas did nothing. He prefers to just tweet.
