Comments Thread For: K. Porter: Shawn Will Punish Keith Thurman Until He Breaks

Kenny Porter, father and trainer of former IBF welterweight champion Shawn 'Showtime' Porter, is predicting a lot of pain and punishment when his son challenges Keith 'One Time' Thurman for the WBA welterweight championship on March 12th at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Of course anything can happen, but I find it hard to believe that Porter will "punish" Thurman, when he didn't do it to Brook or Broner. Thurman is a big step up from Paulie Malignaggi.

Porter is going to need to take some punishment of his own if he wants to "punish" Keith Thurman. Theres no doubt in my mind that Porter is going to get caught with some bombs coming in, the question will be how well he takes those bombs. I think Porter closes the distance pretty fast so Thurman will have trouble getting off more than 1 punch before Porter smothers him, Porter just needs to let his hands go on the body once his closes the distance and all the way up til the break. Itll be evident by rd4 who will win this fight.

Kenny Porter sure does a lot of talking tough and hot air

Kenny The Port sure seems to be a wind bag these days. Short Port lost his title at home to the weak Brit Kell Brook fairly. Thurman should dispose of Short Port fairly easy. Kenny might want to just shut up and focus on Short? Amazing how these dad's who do not work and mooch of their son's careers have so much to say? Kenny wants to be a star it seems.

If he uses his "Run Time" style as Ruben Guerrero calls it then I think that is a HUGE MISTAKE vs Porter who can and will bring relentless pressure if you can't back him off of you. Thurman doesn't get off with his Power when he is fighting off of his backfoot which is why he haven't been getting stops because he been doing the backfoot stuff since the Bundu fight.

If Thurman unveils a inside game then he will not only win this fight but he will go on to be the king at Welterweight after Mayweather and Pacquiao ERA. He showed the Power, he showed the ability to fight off of his back foot effectively, just need to see a inside game. Don't have to spend the entire fight inside but he has to show Thurman that he can fight inside effectively

He is talking his way into getting his son punished. If 'one time' connects a couple of good mean shots, he can stop Porter.
