What we really need to be talking about is all the "super powered" fighters throughout boxing history who got exposed by a boxer better skilled in the intricacies of the sweet science. Too many examples to write off a pugilist like Ward over some power.

I don't agree with that. I think Ward's biggest issue is simply taking Kovalev's power. As long as that's not a big issue for him, he is the superior boxer and his skill set is specifically tailored towards taking advantage of how off balance Kovalev is when he attacks, as well as his superior infighting.
Ward doesn't need to hurt Kovalev, he just needs to frustrate him and keep him off rhythm. Ward's excellent at that. However, that power and the skill Kovalev has in delivering it is a huge issue for anyone. Ward is no different.Last edited by bojangles1987; 02-07-2016, 02:47 PM.
