Comments Thread For: Frampton: Knockdowns In My Last Bout Made Quigg Fight Me

Carl Frampton feels the two knockdowns he suffered during the first round of his last fight actually worked wonders for his career.

Had Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. not dropped him twice in the first round July 18 in El Paso, Texas, Northern Ireland's Frampton is certain Scott Quigg would've avoided fighting him. Frampton overcame those two knockdowns to beat Mexico’s Gonzalez (25-3-2, 15 KOs) by unanimous decision (116-108, 116-108, 115-109).

    Rig beat them both LOL

I think this is abit like Froch vs Groves in that neither are the best in the division but should be a exciting fight.

I thought Frampton would have won this fight if they fought 3 years ago.

I favour Quigg at the moment. Should be a fun fight. I predict them to fan again and avoid Rig

I thought the fight was in the making before his last fight.

Quigg may not be favourite but i think saying he was scared to fight Frampton is nonsense

What's Gonzalez jr up to anyway? I thought he did pretty good. Idk how they only gave him just the first round and then lose every single round after that.

Got to headline his own PBC show (one of the smaller ones, I think on NBCSN), ended up busting one of his hands early, and had to gut his way to a decision loss. Even with one arm, he fought tough; once he heels up, he'll get another shot on PBC.
