I just saw the video of Mares training with Robert Garcia. I was surprised that Abner changed trainers yet again.

This is a very interesting pairing. Hopefully it all works out.

yeah hopefully it works out, but I am weary of a fighter that switch trainers often to me that just screams the boxers doesnt believe he can win as he is and needs something. Changing a trainer 1 time cool maybe twice in but changing after every other fight damn.

Hopefully it works out for Mares. It should, I think Robert is a good fit for him.

Mares should never have left Nacho. Think how far along he'd be right now in mastering that style.

Your right. Seems like desperation. I wonder if he's thinking that maybe he should move back down weight? To me Abner is stuck somewhere between his prime and just becoming a contender at best.

Abner has gone through a lot of changes over the last few years of his career. Maybe he's trying to find his identity again. I don't know.

All I know his he seems like a ghost of himself over the last few years. Maybe this change to Robert Garcia will get him going in the right direction again.
