  • Comments Thread For: Kiko Martinez: Carl Frampton Hits Harder Than Scott Quigg

Few people are better placed to give an opinion on the forthcoming blockbuster clash between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg than a man who has shared the ring with both fighters.

Kiko Martinez was stopped in nine rounds by Frampton in their first fight while going the distance with the Belfast native in their second encounter. Meanwhile Kiko was stopped in two rounds by Quigg last July.

im rocking with frampton in this one he has faced adversity and left his home turf..he got off that canvas and punished that mexican...meanwhile quigg was just taking his first step up...
i could play the "you both are scared of rigo" card, but i'll let a good fight be a good fight and hope they both have the balls to fight him next if they win..

Ultimately, he walked into a perfect punch against both guys, he just walked into it earlier against Quigg.

Quigg landed his shot early and Kiko got up in bad shape and was quickly stopped. Frampton landed his later and one punch KO'd him.

I like framptons style much more than quiggs and he also seems a lot more humble and sincere.... quigg has acted a bit of a knob and I hope frampton sticks one on him....I think framptons got it.....looking forward to this fight a lot

I like Frampton, I don't mind Quigg but his trainer Joe Gallagher will always have you pulling for Quiggs opponent. Gallagher is such a tool.

Yeah and TBH Frampton was in his "boxing mode" and doesn't sit down on his punches as much as when he's on the attack. Quigg has me a little worried because of the Kiko stoppage though but the way I see it Martinez never landed another punch like he did on Williams , Manny never landed another punch like he did on Hatton and so on and so on...

Quigg is a solid puncher at the weight, but that KO flattered him. It was just a perfect punch.

He's landed plenty of clean punches on much lesser opposition and not got that kind of result, Kiko just walked right onto it.

Great fight! I think Frampton will be a little too much going down the stretch and ultimately gets a stoppage late in the fight.

Yeah you could see Kiko thought (and so did I) that he was going to steam roll Quigg. He thrust himself right into it
