Comments Thread For: Roach: Pacquiao, Mayweather Spending Could Lead To Rematch

NEW YORK – Freddie Roach is holding out hope that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will fight again.

The undefeated Mayweather is retired and Pacquiao claims his April 9 rubber match against Timothy Bradley will be the last fight of his Hall-of-Fame career. Roach, however, “would not be surprised” if Mayweather, who’ll turn 39 on Feb. 24, and the 37-year-old Pacquiao continue fighting.

There you have it Pac fans. Even the own man's trainer said he didn't win that fight. I think the word of a Hall of Fame Trainer holds more weight then anybody.

Both will eventually go broke as Floyd's spending habits are beyond ridiculous and Pacquiao will be swindled out of his riches by his govt. I think Pac will handle being poor better than Floyd though as Floyd has too big an ego. Not to mention Pac knows what its like to have absolutely nothing and be dirt poor. Floyd didn't have to endure the challenges that Pac did while growing up.

Manny the people's champ in home country why would he have to be a corrupt politician buying votes? I don't think God would want that to be delivered into manny hands

I keep hearing Floyd spends a lot, but you cant spend what Floyd earned in his career and even in the pac fight alone in a lifetime theres not enough hours in the day.

The only way he loses large chunk is through taxes.

I'm a Pacquiao (and Roach) fan. No way do i want a rematch though. Time to move on, it's done. The dragged out build up and saga around the whole first fight was enough to kill the buzz of the fight for me. Personally, i could do without all that again.

Well off the bat floyd has to cough up nearly 40% of what he makes in taxes. For his sake lets hope he's up to date with that and doesn't owe any back taxes.

As for not being able to spend what he's made?... LOL. Please tell me you're joking! Someone who lives modestly would be able to live a lifetime from what Floyd has made. Floyd lives FAR from modest. By spending MILLIONS upon millions on cars and ***elry, Floyd is on the fast track to being in severe debt in the future.

Forbes has his net worth at $400 million. If Tyson and Holyfield can blow thru just about as much money, so can Floyd.

Not sure if you know much about the Philippines, but the money-driven political system is a truism, which you can trace back to Ferdinand Marcos. Pacquiao was considering buying one of the two major media networks in the Philippines (GMA Network), just to help his political career. That's some Mike Bloomberg type ****.

Didn't Mike Tyson blow 400 million. Floyd also has a couple of Law suits on him at this time too

I know posters want Floyd to go broke so they can see him lose at something but maybe he actually is managing his finances well and is using just his disposable income on all the luxury items. Posters seem to think he is still in the same financial situation he was going back to 2005-07.
