I agree they have 3 star HWs with a couple decent B level guys too. Haye, Fury, Joshua to go along with fringe guys like Price, Whyte, Chisora & Hughie Fury. In the past you didn't have this many HWs at a world level in one era of british boxing. Joshua is a draw but I shouldn't call him a star yet. He looks the part though...Last edited by joe strong; 01-18-2016, 10:34 PM.Comment

A guy like Chisora couldn't sell out a local fight in a garage in the U.S. He's not even a good boxer, quite horrible tbh.
But in U.K., he's kind of a star.
Look at Joshua, he's already a star. Wilder on the other hand has been a pro for what 7 years? He's a nobody here.
Just goes to show the excitement for boxing in The U.K. Right now.Last edited by AddiX; 01-18-2016, 10:36 PM.Comment

Yeah, heavyweights are definitely a big part of it.

I think Chisora gets a bit of a bad rap & he doesn't deserve it. He has a marginal skillset but does pretty good for himself. This guy was willing to fight Wlad in his 15th fight & it was wlad who cancelled twice. How many HWs in recent memory had fought opposition like he did before his 20th fight? Fury, Vitali Klitschko, helenius & Haye. 3 world champions. The guy was matched pretty hard in his career. He is a solid gatekeeper B level fringe guy like Frans Botha use to be. Beats all the C & most fringe guys but can't beat the elite. A tough guy with a marginal skillset. I think he is very underrated in my opinion. This guy has 30 fights. 2 with Fury, Klitschko, Haye, Helenius, Gerber, Scott, Kevin Johnson... Not a bad resume if you ask me. His level of opposition hasn't been easy. Lately he got a new team behind him & has had 5 tuneups but he's ready for another run.
But I think he's a god awful boxer.Comment

He gets by on heart, guts & toughness. When he was at his best he weighed 250-255 as he absorbed shots much better & he was a bully. He doesn't have great power & he is slow but he never got pushed around. You can say he goes to a gun fight with a knife but he wears a bulletproof vest for protection. He gave Helenius & Klitschko all sorts of problems. His lack of speed hurts him vs quicker opponents. When he dropped those 20lbs I think it took away from his ability to take a shot. The weight loss didn't make him any quicker & he had no problems going 12 rounds prior to the weight loss. Sometimes dropping weight doesn't always help a fighter & Arreola is another example of this. It didn't make either guy any quicker but it seemed to take away some of their punch resistance. I like Chisora & he is a solid name on anyone's resume..Comment
