Why?!?!?
Don't like what this could mean for the fight we all actually want later this year.

Comments Thread For: Warren Confirms Offer For Liam Smith To Face Canelo

Makes No Sense
There are a few reasons why offering Smith makes no sense
1. While Liam Smith is super talented and is progressing each fight. He's not known in the states. He has never fought on any networks that are broadcasted in the U.S. to my knowledge. So that's a very tough Pay Per View sell.
2. He fights at Junior Middleweight. But my question is why wouldn't he go for the vacate WBC title that is about to be determined through some tournament?
3. If he's trying to hold titles in 2 different weight classes that's fine. But doesn't he have to fight at Middleweight in May for a voluntary defense? Isn't that what him and GGG agreed too?
All I know is he better hold his word on fighting GGG in September or fans will riot and Canelo will start to lose his fan base.

Well, that is true, but you would have to assume that it is 154.
Or 155, in Canelo's case.
Either way..... IF Canelo is preparing for GGG, then there is no point in fighting Smith, at any weight.
The indications are pretty clear to me.
Not good news for Golovkin.
The WBC are gonna look real dumb on this one.

Canelo may fight at 135 next if he pleases. WBC ruling reads that, at the end of May, Canelo and GGG must start negotiations or the one who fails gets stripped.

I don't know why, because for once there should be.
The only reason why a Canelo fight with Golovkin should be deferred is because Canelo is not a genuine middleweight, and 2-3 fights will allow him to adapt to 160 before facing the beast Golovkin.....
..... well, 2-3 fights will not enable Canelo to adapt to 160 IF he is fighting a JMW at 154
So, you may now proceed to whine.
I told you all that Canelo's next opponent will indicate his intentions.
Well, it aint looking good for Golovkin
The WBC are going to end up looking real ****** here.
Like I said yesterday, they should have obtained a commitment from Canelo that he will defend at 160 BEFORE they deferred his mandatory Golovkin.
Really, Canelo simply told the WBC that "we will get back to you later, once we have decided upon our future", and yet they still seem to be focused on 154.
