    Filipino Boxers Losses Pile Up

For a country that has produced one of the most exciting fighters today in Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao, the win-loss record of Filipino boxers abroad is unimpressive to say the least. In the latest fight results received by Viva
Sports/Manila Standard three more fighters lost in foreign venues in addition to the two who were beaten in South Korea on the undercard of the Injin Chi-Tommy Browne WBC title fight. [details]

Mexican, Puerto Rican, etc. etc. boxers loose all the time and some make it to the big time. Brusseles just got beat by Mayweather, Leija by Gatti. So what ???? In boxing only a rare few ever make it to the top. Of those names mentioned, I don't know a single one that is even a prospective champion from the Philippines. Hopefully you will come to hear names like undefeated Rodel Mayol, Z Gorrez, Randy Suico, and Rey Bautista. There is nothing to attack because this post is ****** just like your retort. Mayorga sucks!!!

And just for the record that boy Barrera is facing, fana, got his ass knocked down 3 times by Suico who was robbed of a decision in S. Africa. He should be facing Barrera if it was not for the biased decision.

Getting a decision in countries like Korea, Japan, Thailand, South Africa, is not easy. And based on that recent fight in Japan, that Mexican fighter got a taste of what it is like to win in these countries. Unfortunately the road to glory in the U.S. is through these countries. You seem to have overlooked the great Filipino champions that have graced the ring in recent years. Champions like Elorde, Penalosa, and others who have shown that the Philippines produces world class boxers. I don't know if this has been posted in reaction to Manny's success and the influx of fans that have risen to his support. Somehow some people are threatened and offended by it. Looking at the respons of bigsmoothh, it seems like some of yall are just hatin. Stop hatin. Peace.

It's cool Alibata. But you may have a point there. Anyway, this is what forums are for. The best thing is that they are now talking about Filipino boxers. Before Pac for a long while nobody gave a hoot about Asian boxers....Now its different. So its cool.

That's right! I can't wait for that boy Rey Bautista to brake loose and wreak havoc. That boy can box and has a punch that will even give Manny a run for his money. He's only 18 and already has shown the power to send his opposition to the emergency room. That South African came in mouthing of and got shown up. CONG**** TO HIM AND RODEL MAYOL FOR THEIR WINS!!!! IT SHOULD BE METIONED. Instead of bringing to light no name boxers who lost, just for the sake of hating.

You all know that 4 times out of 5, if something good in boxing comes out of Asia to the U.S., it is comming from the Philippines. Just check your boxing history and you will see. I think this thread was just meant to provoke. Honestly.
