Comments Thread For: Feigenbutz-De Carolis For WBA Belt, Chudinov Now Super Champ

Vincent Feigenbutz (21-1, 19 KOs) can write boxing history on Saturday night by becoming Germany’s youngest ever World Champion with the vacant WBA World Super Middleweight title now on the line in his rematch with Giovanni De Carolis (23-6, 11 KOs) at the Baden-Arena in Offenburg, Germany.

Feigenbutz and De Carolis were originally scheduled to contest the WBA’s interim World title, but yesterday, the governing body announced that their fight will be for the ‘regular’ World title. Their ruling comes following Andre Ward’s move up to light heavyweight and the subsequent promotion of World Champion Fedor Chudinov to Super Champion.

WBA bylaws (21-6.14) guarantee a set number of fake title belts for Sauerland Promotions fighters. Also, WBA bylaws (22-7.13) guarantee Sauerland fighters don't have to fight other beltholders or legitimate opposition to win said fake belts. See: Jack Culcay.

That's the wrong call, but I get your disenchantment. Boxing is the king of sports. It's the way it's run that's pathetic. Laughable and at the same time incredibly sad.

Typical Sauerland fighter. They are the promoters of some of the biggest bums in boxing.

He just won the vacant WBA title on 9/25/15. He hasn't defended the title 5 times yet nor hold other titles simultaneously.

                  WBA Super Champion???

It's not like the WBC, IBF, or WBO are any better.

Unfortunately, Golden Boy's the Ring is more legitimate.
