ALA Promotions kicks off 2016 with a big card on February 27 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu titled “Stars of the Future” headlined by unbeaten super bantamweight Prince Albert Pagara and featherweight Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo along with KJ Cataraja and unbeaten minimum weight Melvin Jerusalem.

To be honest, Sanchez Jr. Has been on the downside since moving up past 115. It seems like all he had going for himself was his size advantage over Flyweights and Super Flyweights. Once he faced someone his size in Zolani Tete, he got KO'd. Even against a smaller Juan Francisco Estrada, he got Ko'd for his lack of defense and skill. He doesn't seem to have carried his power neither and he's never really used his size as an advantage to box from the outside too well. I can see Pagara picking up a notable name for his resume in this fight.

On another note, I'm really intrigued by Mark Magsayo. I can't wait to see him develop further and hopefully become something special. If anything I would love to see the Mexico vs Pinas rivalry continue to thrive and some time in the future, after both prospects solidify their legitimacy, a showdown between Oscar Valdez vs Mark Magsayo looks rather appealing.

Not a bad card from ALA. Not great, but a lot better than the cards they are known for putting on.

This is a big card? Pagara against a washed up Jr. Bantamweight and then an undercard of unknowns?
