Comments Thread For: David Haye Says Joshua is For Real, Open To Summer Clash

Former two division world champion David Haye (26-2, 24KOs) is really pumped to get back in the ring, after being away since July of 2012. Haye faces Mark De Mori (30-1-2) on January 16th at the O2 Arena in London.

In Haye's last fight, he knocked out Dereck Chisora in five rounds at Upton Park in West Ham.

This clown is notorious for pulling out of fights. If I were Joshua I would plan a fight 3 months before this one so when she pulls out you aren't sitting around for 9 months or a year without a fight.

Haye is a wise man. Knock this kid off his perch before he actually becomes a problem. Joshua has a bad chin. Unless he gets with Haymon he's on the road to the embarrassing KO loss youtube highlight reel starter pack

Assuming Haye gets past De Mori, and wants the Joshua fight, he would be wise to fight again a week before AJ or around the same time.

Lack of exciting opponents and public groundswell could force an AJ clash in the summer or at the O2 at the end of the year.

However I think Hearn doesn't really want this fight at this point (fair enough), and is targeting the IBF route.

Haye is caught between a rock and a hard place. He dont want to leave the josh fight too late as Josh will improve so much. But haye dont want him too soon as well, because it may be too fast for haye who has had such a long lay off.

But it seems you cant buy experience, and haye can take 4 years off and come back and be above Joshua..........is that how it works?

Yes, but id like to see it. Hopefully josh wont think he needs 10 more fights before fighting haye as well. He should see haye as rusty as hell and wants haye next.

Haye loved what he saw when Joshua fought Whyte and now feels very confident he can take down the big man. Joshua is already a very good fighter but still has a lot to learn. Haye wants to catch him at the right time. If Haye looks good in his next fight team Joshua should avoid him.
