  • Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Says He Saw Bradley as 'Most Exciting' Option

According to eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, the selection of Timothy Bradley as the April 9th opponent was not completely based on the financial aspects of the event.

A lot of fans voiced their displeasure when the trilogy bout was officially announced a few days ago by Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank.

The other two fighters in the running were British superstar Amir Khan and WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

He thought that because he couldn't get Mayweather or Broner, that Bradley would be the next best choice because he already whipped him twice.

Arum still had the final say..

Seeing how both guys have deteriorated and slowed down a bit, this third fight can be an all out brawl.

The only thing that holds me back from predicting that is Teddy Atlas, he will make sure Bradley doesn't make it a brawl,so it could be a boxing clinic by Bradley and Bradley setting a lot of traps and hurting Pac with sneak power shots.

If this was Bradley under Diaz, this third fight would be a barn burner, its pretty much 50 50 right now and both guys are evenly matched at this stage. I would give the slight advantage to Bradley since he has Atlas, has more hunger than Manny, and in the second fight he was boxing Pacquiao and even set him up and caught him with a heavy right hand that wobbled Pac. Bradley gassed out trying to throw so many power shots on Manny in the rematch.

Bradley was able to hurt Manny where Manny wasn't able to hurt Bradley.

At the end of the day, Bob Arum is the one who chose the fight and told Manny his reasons for why this would be the better fight, and Pac just said okay boss, then Bradleys wife told him to take it.

I see Atlas telling Bradley to box and move and set up traps so Pac can walk into them, if someone is getting knocked out its Pacquiao.

It will probably be a decent fight but idk about 'most exciting.' It would have been pretty exciting to fight either Broner or Khan because at least then it would be a new opponent where the fight ending in a stoppage is a possibility.

Instead of fighting Khan, Pac fights the guy who ducked Khan who is also someone he has beaten twice in the past.

Foolish. Bradley beat a near shot Rios the same exact way Rios beat a near shot Alvarado. Arum wins at the end of the day because fans are ******. Pacquiao has fought nothing but rematches in his career. He still gets praised as some boxing god, Arum ruined his career, not his accomplishments, but his overall career. Such a waste for a great fighter, just so funny to see cawk riding. Also every retort has to do with "OH BUT MAYWEATHER vs BERTO!"

shiet has nothing to do with Mayweather and atleast that was a fresh opponent. this fight is like Mayweather vs Berto 3. Pacquiao made a fool of Bradley 2 times already and decided to do it again for easy money but cawk riders give it a pass

Most exciting? The 2 other fights were kind of boring how can this one be exciting? This is a useless fight... Pac won both of them and should have told Arum to f=ck off..

Neither fights were particularly exciting(Bradley 1 and 2). Watched them once live and that's it. Both Broner and Khan, though lesser fighters than Bradley, would have been more exciting and possibly would have been TKO'ed by Pacquiao. He hasn't gotten a stoppage since 2009 in the Cotto fight, and it looks like that streak will continue because I don't think he will stop Bradley.
