Why are so many pure boxers or former boxers picking Byrd over Wlad?

Byrd had a few good fights where he threw a ton of punches and danced around and now everyone thinks he is the most skilled heavyweight in years. I for one dont buy it. The guy is mediocre at best. He is lucky Wlad will even do him the favor of making him some money before he fades into oblivion. I also think U.S. fighters are nervous with the amount of eastern europeans coming into the sport. I bet there is alot of bias there.

I sort of agree to this because the deal on Wlad-Lewis was close, until Wlad lost to Sanders.

do you mean a deal was close as in a megafight. if so, it should be noted that vitali was a mandatory for over a year before actually fighting lewis. and lewis wanted to wait even longer, except johnson had pulled out with a chest injury. lewis even wanted to fight tyson again before vk. even rjj got mentioned. kinda makes one think he ducking vitali because he knew vitali was more of a threat than the general population believed.

not sure where wlad fits into all this, because ll was already being pressed by the wbc to fight vk, or risk being stripped of the belt. and it was virtually the same situation after lewis/klitschko - lewis was once again risking losing his wbc crown instead of fighting vitali. i think wk losing to sanders had actually relieved lewis of having to fight wk for a huge payday megafight. i mean, there was a 20+ million dollar rematch with vitali that he elected not to take.

Dude Vitali lost to Lennox Lewis and I think its lame that he wont fight Rahman after he postpones his bout for 5 times due to so called "injuries" and then when he announces his retirement then he calls out lewis saying "I will only come If lewis does the same", clearly he was looking for a huge payday, and he knew lewis retired, people call out lewis so they can get paid.

As for Wlad, Lewis was going to fight him soon as he wanted to be the person who would beat both Klitschko's..that fight was not signed unfortunately because Wladimir lost to Corey Sanders by an embarassing 2nd round TKO, and everyone then wlad got exposed.

Lewis was out of his prime when he beat Vitali, I dont know what would a Prime Lewis do to him...Man I understand your a fan, Infact I admit I have been a bit harsh on Wladimir, and admit he has good skills and physical gift, but fighting guys who are out of there primes and cab drivers would'nt help his career.

Rock beat Tua in the second fight, the first fight was controversial because the referee did'nt give Rahman enough time to recover, and remember Rahman was one of the only people to Drop David Tua in late rounds...

Toney would beat Wlad , I think he could have beaten Rahman too had he came in shape, but a fact is a fact, the fat penguin lost to someone who came in a good shape to fight.

Kali Meehan is the same guy who got robbed against Lamon Brewster.
