Comments Thread For: Thurman on Porter: I'll Drop Bombs, Make it an Early Night!

WBA “regular” welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (26-0, 22Kos) looks forwards to a potential fight with Shawn “Showtime” Porter, who previously held the IBF world title.

Both fighters have been out of the ring for some time now. Thurman last fought in July when he knocked out Luis Collazo in seven rounds, while Porter (26-1-1, 16Ks) won an upset twelve round unanimous decision over four division world champion Adrien Broner in June.

I can't believe these two have had to sit out this long when both have been ready and willing to fight each other. This fight should have happened last month.

I got One Time. He's a good enough counter puncher to take full advantage of Porter's mistakes, and his power will keep Porter from recklessly rushing in.

At least he has spoken at last.

PBC have got to be the worst communicators in the history of boxing promotion. If Haymon won't say zilch at least it would be helpful if they would have a verbose spokesperson who could update fans and media instead of leaving the boxers hung out to dry.
