  • Comments Thread For: Hennessy Hoping Eubank vs. Blackwell Bout Comes Off

LONDON - Hennessy Sports are delighted to announce they have won the right to stage the British middleweight title fight between champion Nick Blackwell and number one challenger Chris Eubank Jr. in 2016.

Promoter Mick Hennessy submitted the highest purse bid this afternoon – amid fierce competition from Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn – and will now look to secure a date and venue for the Blackwell vs. Eubank Jr. fight in the coming weeks.

Fury brought in the big bucks.

I think Hennessy is a decent promoter tbh, he manoeuvred Froch towards a world title and same with Fury. Managed to secure a contract to air boxing free on British TVs with both ITV and Channel 5 - what is not to like?

      Just found this article too,

I think Eubank stops Blackwell before the 10th tbh. I like Blackwell and he's a good fighter, will have a good career domestically. Eubank Jr is going all the way.

Blackwell really struggled with Arnfield who boxed on the outside and made the most of his jab. Couldn't miss him with uppercuts at times too and we all know Jr loves 'em.

Blackwell is a good fight for Eubank to take. They might wait to see how the WBA convention ends though.

Good fight! I think Eubank Jr. wins due to Blackwell being very open to the uppercut which is Eubank Jr.'s best punch. Blackwell is very under rated though and a decent middleweight contender. I honestly think Eubank jr. needs a couple fights like this in order to develop further and gain more experience. The only two fights he's had that I feel have been extremely beneficial to his progression and development are Spike and Saunders. The only other two half decent fights were Booth and Pryce. I think Eubank Jr should face Blackwell before Jacobs (which btw I think he can win but more experience would be beneficial)

Yeah man I'm with you. Another fight at this level is what he needs, maybe even another one or two after that, then a top ten opponent perhaps? Think he fought well enough against O'Sullivan, showed that's he's learned to loosen up a little. I think he has good boxing skills, just needs to stop loading up, develop his jab further maybe. Feck it, I'm no expert, I'll admit - but this is what I see
