Comments Thread For: Golden Boy VP on Canelo's Return, Facing Golovkin

Now that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, the reigning WBC middleweight champion, is free to make a voluntary defense of his title before entering into negotiations for a mandatory bout against Gennady Golovkin - the focus is on making his next fight and it's clear that Golden Boy Promotions and 'Canelo' want to plant their flag on Cinco De Mayo weekend(May 7th).

Why can't these journalists grow a set of balls and ask the obvious question:

"So did the recent discussions cover a proposed weight that the fight will take place at?"

Or at least "So will Canelo be fighting his next fight at 155"?

We all know that Canelo's Team will hold to that 155 CW, just make sure that they can get the weakest GGG posible.

Golovkin should start cutting weight from now on, just to make sure his body acclimates to that CW.

Canelo will ask CW, 85-15 split, pick gloves, pick boots, color of the ring, his name on GGG's trunks, etc.

        Because it's Steve Kim......

My question is why isn't Oscar talking about this? Pics of him partying hard this weekend and he goes silent when the announcement is made.

The power of the A-side, if little g ain't sell 97k ppv's or fought better comp over his 9+ year career he would have more say so instead it's can after can and now him and k2 getting ****d by WBC out of mando with giving canelo a voluntary and hoping they can start negotiations afterwards

If he said Canelo would fight Fury next but the terms are bl;ablab and look at pac vs floyd and look at this and look at that , you would think Canelo wants Fury next wouldnt you? if its not clear to you that they are stalling as much as they can you are blind my friend...

Translation: If Triple B1tch wants his money fight, its gonna be on Canelo's terms. And if he doesn't, Triple B1tch can go make a mandatory that only he and his 97K fans care about. And hope like hell the Jacobs-Lee/Saunders winner fights him at the end of 2016.

Oh maaaaan I'm so excited for Canelo vs GGG when this cat answers the will they fight question with this
"If the terms are correct, we want to fight him next. If we can sit down and get the terms where everybody is happy then we want to fight him next. There's a lot of things that come into play - many, many things that come into play."
Is anyone confident that Canelo vs GGG happens in the 2nd half of 2016? At this point I'm probably 49.5%/49.5% split that Canelo will drop the belt or the WBC will give another extension with 1% on the fight happening...but I've always been an optimist.
