IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin and WBA "regular" middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs met face to face at the ongoing annual convention of the WBA Boxing Association in Panama. Golovkin is the WBA's "super champion" at 160-pounds.

Jacobs was in action two weeks ago, when he knocked out Peter Quillin in the first round. Golovkin was last seen in October, when he stopped David Lemieux to unify his three world titles.

There's the interim champ (Eubanks), regular champ (Jacobs), and super champ (Golovkin).

I guess the interim is the regular champ's mandatory and the regular is the super champ's mandatory.

And this is why sanctioning organizations are a joke, especially the wretched WBA.

Johnson has to happen, you know the IBF, GGG will hopefully squeeze that mandatory in between unifications. Don't expect GGG's team to negotiate with Haymon.

Eubank Jr vacated teh day after he beat Jeter.... but since he told the WBA before, the WBA sanctioned Khomtisky/Blanco for an interim interim belt.... which became the full interim belt after Eubank Jr vacated....
