  • Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Open To DeGale Shot if No Jack Showdown

Former world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) is very hungry to become the first fighter from Mexico to capture a world championship at 168-pounds.

Chavez is looking to step in the ring with WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack. If that fight doesn't come together, then Chavez would be wiling to face IBF champion James DeGale. Chavez and DeGale are both managed by Al Haymon. Jack is promoted by Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is also managed by Haymon.

Roach has had a lot of his fighters lose recently especially his stars, but he'd revive Stoolio's career

How does this guy get a title shot after so long inactive and a devastating KO loss?

Can this lazy fat disgrace even make 168? Last 2 fights OVER 170. 3 of his last 4 fights OVER 170. Last time he made 168 was early 2014. But you want me to think he'll make 168 in 2016? Yeah OK lol

At a real weight or at Julio-weight?

Chavez Jr has a long way to go to convince anyone he's a real fighter, never mind a real contender.

Would be happy for DeGale if he got this fight

Good fight, make it happen and you know Degale or Chavez Jr won't pull out of the fight or duck (the same way Brook ducked many, many fighters habitually to the point that if he keeps going at the same rate of ducking, by the time his career is over Brook would have ducked at least as many fighters as he's fought! wtf is up with that?).

I wouldn't mind seeing that fight. Can't see Chavez making weight though.
