Comments Thread For: Malignaggi, Froch Agree: Joshua vs. Haye Can Wait

Anthony Joshua needs more learning fights before a big domestic clash with David Haye, according to Carl Froch.

The exciting heavyweight came through the toughest test of his career against Dillian Whyte, recovering from a torrid second round before knocking out his bitter rival with a big uppercut, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Haye, working as a Sky Sports expert, praised Joshua for passing a 'gut check' while battling to his 15th straight stoppage win.

Agreed. At this point, Haye would spark this bloke. Haye should be fighting the Fury next if he can get passed Klinchko...

The backtracking has started. Saw a video on Twitter of Eddie Hearn previously saying Wilder wouldn't last 3 rounds, and he's now asking why every one is trying to rush Joshua.

Hearn is making an arse of himself - one week, he says "Joshua beats Klitschko", the next "Joshua needs time...why are you trying to rush him?"

Joshua, meanwhile, has maintained his stance: he needs more fights before going for a title. He does need more fights before stepping up.

So what, Hearn probably over-exaggerated Joshuas readiness at elite level..... but that's what promoters are supposed to do aren't they? If your promoter doesn't believe in you, you gotta be shyte!

And let's be honest...do you really think any 15 fight novice should be challenging for a world title? I know Lomachenko competed for world honours very early in his pro career after a very extensive amateur one...and lost may I add........ Has it ever been even attempted at heavy?

Was it really that hard a fight for josh? Did he dsay it was tough? Of course his hardest fight up till now but he might have had harder sparring sessions or fights in the olympics

But he might beat haye now you never know, but he wants to be certain he'd beat him so may wait awhile

Ali beat Liston in his 20th fight - that was an amazing feat as there were less titles then and therefore less weaker champions to knock off.

                  Needs 5-10 more fights IMO.
