Comments Thread For: DeGuardia on Algieri’s Future, Working With Haymon

Chris Algieri’s appearance on the undercard of Daniel Jacobs vs. Peter Quillin was the second straight time he’d been on a show associated with boxing adviser Al Haymon. His loss to Amir Khan in May came on a “Premier Boxing Champions” broadcast on Spike TV.

Algieri was coy about his promotional situation when asked about it following his decision win over Erick Bone on Dec. 5 on Showtime Extreme. “It’s complicated,” he said before confirming that he was still with Star Boxing. [Click Here To Read More]

Shaw sounds in denial about losing Algeiri. Sucks for shaw, he basically gets one decent fighter who networks are actually interested in every few years, while promoting a ton of shows yearly.

He finally gets a guy and Haymon stole him already.

Chris vs Berto or Thurman would work for me though. Haymon will probably put chris through a gauntlet of tough fights, he's not one of "his" guys.

Algeri vs. Errol Spence Jr.! Make it happen! Good measuring stick for both fighters!

Algieri-Berto is a fight I'd be interested in. Also Algieri vs. the Vasquez-Martinez winner. They should build Algieri up. I don't want to see him get used as an opponent vs. the likes of Spence or Thurman until he's had a decent amount of fights to get back in rhythm and winning again.
