Comments Thread For: Hearn: IBF Ordered Brook-Bizier, Khan Possible in 2016

As BoxingScene.com reported a few days ago, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) will likely be forced to make a mandatory title defense in his upcoming return in early 2016.

Brook's last mandatory defense was made when he knocked out Jo Jo Dan in four rounds on March 28th in Sheffield. He then made a voluntary defense in May with a sixth round TKO of Frankie Gavin.

Surely Chaves can sue or something.

They pulled him out of the IBF rankings to fight Brook, now he doesn't get a shot at all?

I have no idea what to make of this.

I'm disappointed with recent Brook opponents as is everyone, but his entire value is tied to owning that IBF belt. He'll jump through any hoop to keep it and I don't blame him.

But at the same time...this just sucks, and there's such a lack of urgency from Brook's team/Matchroom to change it, it's almost welcomed.

          Translation-
Hearn: I paid the notoriously corrupt IBF to order Brook vs Bizier so that Brook could duck Chaves, just like he ducked Alexander, Rios, Bradley, Thurman and many other fighters. #Ducking4life

So Brook can duck Chaves...Is this the same Chaves that hasnt won a fight in in awhile and i think has lost his last 3.

So Hern made Chaves pull out of the eliminator against Bizer - which he would have won. Then cancelled the Chaves fight twice, citing a injury (which didnt exist), only to then fight Kevin Bizier instead

              Naughty Brook

This is pathetic. Just drop the freaking belt man, no need in holding onto it if this is the level of competition he is gonna keep fighting

the ibf may follow the rules but their rankings are full of **** fighters which makes it pointless to follow the rules. ibf seems to worse for the sport then good
