Yeah but Brian talks like the person who has the belt is the champ and is the best at the division. That's just not the case. Floyd is the best. Floyd beat Gatt and Zab. Gatti will beat Baldo.
Means nothing. It's like saying Hopkins would have automatically been considered the light heavyweight king if he would have moved up when Glen Johnson was champ, even though he stopped Johnson - Glen would have still been the recognized champion.
Mayweather is Roy Jones like fighter now, he moved up to the point where his speed and defense are his two best weapons. Once they go, he is done. He has no power whatsoever at 147.
Baldomir beat Zab in more imperssive fashion than Mayweather, he almost put Zab away, I don't care if Zab didnt train or not - that's Zab's problem.
If Mayweather beats Margarito - maybe then he can make some sort of claim as the "recognized" champion of the division, until then Baldomir is the recognized champion.
So Floyd needs to beat Gatti again (after Gatti beats Baldo) to be seen as the best?
Floyd nor do the fans want to see Floyd-Gatti II. No reason to. We all know, lncluding Gatti that he can't beat Floyd. Gatti said it himself after the fight.. "I was beaten by the best man in the sport." Or something along those lines, but almost identical to that statement.
Surely, you don't think Floyd was trying to KO Judah??? If you think Baldo did a better job against Zab because he's better, well I don't think that could be further from the truth. Baldo even priced himself out of a fight with Floyd, very telling
Floyd has power at welterweight. Floyd KO'd Mitchell who has a better chin than Zab (check their fights against Kostya... Zab was OUT on one shot). Floyd didn't want to ruin his friend's marketability by beating him the way he should. Especially since Zab needs many more fights to pay back the IRS.

No, that's not in dispute. Brian "Biased" Kenny equates belts and best fighter. That's not the case. With an idiot like Kenny, Floyd would need to beat Gatti again for him to call Floyd the best.
Ring Magazine usually doesn't play that childish game. Having the belt doesn't always mean you're the best.
LOL, Brian Kenny never said anyone was better than Floyd. You're just mad he made Floyd look ****** on ESPN.
the belts no longer mean as much as they once did....we all know who is the best ...pbf beat both gatti and zab and we dod not need to discuss what would happen if pbf fought baldomir..pbf wins that fight very very easily..

i dont know if he made floyd look ****** tho...i mean, if he did, then floyd make him look ****** also...calling him out that hes never fought before in his life

when you use that as your argument, it means you've lost the argument
what the hell is your problem? it's not about the belts. Zab was the champ and Baldomir beat him. Baldomir is the recognized Undisputed Welterweight champion. you're biased as hell, man.
I'm going to have to agree. Obviously Floyd is better than Gatti, and destroyed him in their fight, but if Judah was the Undisputed Welter champ, and Baldomir beat him, then Baldomir is the man right now. If Gatti beats Baldomir, like it or not, Gatti's the man. Then likely, Mayweather will destroy Gatti again, and then Mayweather will be the man.
Baldomir is the linear champion, he beat the man who beat the man, and so on. If Gatti beats him, he could and should be the recognized champion. Mayweather cant even call himself a champ, he won a title that was "handed" back to the loser, after the winner did not pay the sanctioning fees.
Sure Mayweather spanked him, but Maskaev spanked Rahman...does that make Maskaev the real heavyweight champ?
