Velez just showed one of the best acts of sportsmanship that I have ever seen. After the decision, he clapped loudly, hugged and praised Rios, and even strapped the belt on Rios' back and buckled the belt. That is some damn good sportsmanship. Kudos to Velez for such a display!

That means he's finished as a fighter
basically, he's acknowledging total and utter defeat with those actions.

In order to keep going after a devastating loss, a fighter needs to believe that he could have won. he needs to make excuses, at least to himself.

Some people called Pulev a moron for claiming that Wlad ¨got lucky¨ when he KHTFO. but there's a reason for this, people dont understand that he needs to make excuses in order to keep believing in himself, specially after getting destroyed so thoroughly

What Velez did means his fighting spirit has been crushed. It's downhill from here for the featherfisted scrub. showing a lot of ¨sportmanship¨ after a defeat is not good, it's actually a very bad sign for the one who lost

You have no idea what he is thinking or his morale and it is pompous for you act like you do and you sure as hell don't have ESP to know what is going inside him.

Thousands of fighters every year who have been decisioned or knocked out do not act in a highly sportsman-like manner, while others do, and their thoughts and feelings have no contiguous predictability with how they will act after a fight. Class and lack of class have nothing to do with winning or losing or the related actions.

The fact is, some show more sportsmanship than others and that is what Velez did. Showing the class that he did is a sign of maturity, not defeat, and that's not a difficult concept to grasp.

Velez to me wasn't all that special but he really showed class at the end of that fight.

Velez's previous fight he already showed these bad habits or lack of skills. Not surprised that he lost
