As a fan, have you ever taken some time off from boxing?

It's pretty much been my entire life, I'm 34 now.
Right now I have to say that I LOVE the direction things are going in. Rarely now do two weeks pass and there aren't some at least semi-significant fights going on and going on, on television. So while I may not have as many favourite fighters today than I did a decade or two ago, the quantity is tremendous and it's unlike anything I think I remember.
And just right now, I'm really excited about watching Zurdo Ramirez tomorrow night. Of course I'm excited about Canelo and Cotto. I wanna see Miura on the undercard, I wanna see if Jayson Velez can stop Ronny Rios. Rigo is on the undercard! And even before that it's Perez-Crolla! That's just this weekend and more the weekend after with Klitschko and Fury and DeGale and Bute!
No, it's changed, but it's no less.Comment

Like anything some days my heart just ain't it, a couple of months ago I had a week off, not planned or anything, it just left me.
Then it all comes crashing back, talking/arguing about this sport is basically one of my favourite things to do in life.Comment

I started followed boxing pretty hard since '81. I think I had a problem during the '80's once that boxing bug bit. I was consumed by boxing then, and it continued into the '90's. But once true life started for me(wife and kids) I didn't follow as hard as when I was younger. This past five to six years ever since boxing forums started and I was able to talk boxing and boxing history with people I started to get really into it again. To bad we didn't have the internet back in the '80's and boxing forums, it would have been a crazy time with people since the '80's are the last golden age of boxing. But the bug bit me again but not as hard.Comment

Well you are only a couple years older than me but I didnt become a true fan of boxing util I was an late teen (18-19yo) but I feel you theres alot to be excited about, the only problem I see is its become more and more prevalent IMO that the "fix" is in on many fights or their complete mismatches. Cotto vs Canelo is almost dead even IMO but I can see a controversial decision happening. And out of the fights you named, I actually think Zurdo Ramirez gets upset but I wouldnt be surprised if the fix is in on that 1. Ramirez is a mere hype to me, he slow as molasses and has no power and those Armenians are pretty tuff guys I just hope the winners get their fair due or, Im taking a break...It's pretty much been my entire life, I'm 34 now.
