Comments Thread For: Nicholas Walters is Very Willing To Face Uchiyama

As he prepares to return in December, former champion Nicholas Walters had a few minutes to answer the challenge of the World Boxing Association super featherweight champion Takashi Uchiyama of Japan.

During a press conference to announce his December 31 return in Tokyo, Uchiyama said he expected to make his debut in the United States in 2016, and cited Walters ( 26-0-1, 21 KO) as the potential challenger to face him.

That'd be cool... but I see PBC snatching him up, maybe against Fortuna

Uchiyama has wasted so much of his career, about time he fights someone relevant.

This is exactly the type of opponent Walters needs to get back on top again. He has too much talent to not have a belt around his waist.

Wonder if he'd be willing to go to Japan to make it happen? They could fight in the afternoon for HBO to pick it up.

That Rigodeaux bout against that blonde hair Japanese dude last year looked like a DBZ fight. Super Saiyan Goku vs a Black frieza... Rigodeaux trashed him.

Anyway I need Walters to do what he needs to do so people will realize that Lomachenko has no choice but need to face these demons eventually. What he want? Rigodeaux or Walters? Either way his soul will be forsaken by God.

This fight would happen in US , Uchiyama stated he is willing to come to the states and he has had talks w/Arum previously

This is one of the few times I've ever seen someone actually mention Uchi by name and that they'd be willing to fight but we'll see

Fortuna is 2nd rate nobody will give Uchi that much credit for KOing him , give me the bigger more regarded names so he can get his due recognition.

After Obara put a whopping on Castillo that might change that idea
