Comments Thread For: Nathan Cleverly Eyes More Fights on American Soil

Nathan Cleverly wants more fights and more challenges in America one month on from his fight of the year candidate against Andrzej Fonfara.

The former WBO light heavyweight champion lost out to the Pole in a 12-round war in Chicago that pleased the fans, the television networks and improved Cleverly's career despite the defeat.

Cleverly knows the USA pays the way

Fighting in the UK means little to nothing for any fighter. The money and fame and attention is in America. England offers nothing but being on a small damp crammed island. Why go unnoticed come to America and be seen?

Hell yeah, Cleverly made a fan out of me in his last outing. He went to war and never gave up. He fought his heart out until the last bell. I'd love to see him again!

More power to him. Cleverly lost a close fight to Fonfara, and Nathan did not moan or cry one bit.

On his day he's capable of being competitive with the contenders in the division.

He a good choice to have on a card, as his faith in his chin means he's often easily dragged into a brawl. Just a shame he doesn't carry any punching power.

Always rated Cleverly, good to see him getting respect from the American fans, there is good money to be made there and he deserves it.

felt sad for him, he was embarrassing fonfara for the first half until that broken nose completely changed the fight.

They would definitely take him back in America after that fan friendly performance. Proved he had too much muscle on at cruiserweight for that lean body. He barely threw a punch in the second half of the Bellew fight and here he cleared over 1000.
