Schaefer's next gig will be working with Mayweather or working with Haymon. Why would HBO hire him? They had a great year and have 9 of the 10 top 10 P4P fighters all locked up and now the only fighter they don't have signed Rigo is fighting on HBO this weekend and more then likely Roc Nation that has a relationship with HBO will get him a deal with HBO next. Remember why HBO cut ties with Schaefer and Haymon in the first place. People keep saying it was just Haymon but it was Golden Boy too because of Schaefer. Once Schaefer was forced out and Oscar was in control HBO welcomed Golden Boy back. So it makes no sense to put that snake who was one of the main guys responsible for the rift in charge

HBO has had a good year but they've blown their load. Let's take a look at their P4P fighters

- Kovalev: We're getting a Kovalev v. Pascal, a fight that was dominated by Kovalev and ended in a TKO. His fight in Vegas flopped. He has to go to his opponents hometown in order to draw a crowd. He's surrounded by Haymon fighters in his division. There's an issue of a Beterbiev IBF purse bid that may derail the Ward fight. Name his next 3 potential fights

-Ward: Paying a lot of money for his tune-up fights and still not certain he'll fight Kovalev. He can't draw outside of Oakland. If a fight with Kovalev were held today or next year it's still not a PPV but they'll have to pay Ward PPV money. Name his next 3 potential fights

- GGG: They can't get their other two legitimate stars in the ring with him. His PPV did Tommy Morrison vs Ray Mercer numbers. He's 34 the clock is ticking and he doesn't have one signature win and no signature opponents in sight. If he moves up a weight class he's surrounded by Haymon fighters. If he moves down a weight class he's surrounded by Haymon fighters. Name his next 3 potential fights

-Roman Gonzalez: Let's just be honest about this one. I know he's the #1 P4P fighter for boxing hipsters but his opposition has been trash. He added nothing, as far as viewership, to the GGG PPV. He can't sell out a Marriot ballroom yet he's asking for $1-$2 mil to rematch Estrada. Nobody is going to pay him that. He hasn't proven anything. Name his next 3 potential fights

-Lomachenko: Surrounded by Haymon fighters in his weight class. Won't move up to face Walters or rematch Salido. Can't come to an agreement to fight Rigo, who is also not a draw but wants big money. Just fought a cab driver on the Bradley undercard in front of 10 people. His presence added nothing viewership wise or attendance wise to the fight. Name his next 3 potential fights

-Wlad: He fights on Saturday afternoon. HBO doesn't even try to market him in America.

-Pacquiao: Always a solid draw. His next fight is his last

-Rigondeaux: I don't even have to explain this one. Name his next 3 potential fights

Even if you look at potential stars on TR, GBP, & RNS those fighters are surrounded by Haymon fighters. Yes, HBO has the biggest stars but they'll be fighting bums.

Imagine the UFC without Dana White. Thats what the PBC is right now without a front man of some sort. What title or capacity that person actually takes idk tbqh, but their needs to be someone high up with this PBC entity who's not a hermit & can speak on PBC **** imo.

Maybe I'm wrong or maybe thats something thats way down the line when/if there is a PBC belt or w/e, but I think its something thats needed & would be welcomed by boxing media & fans alike just so PBC's moves don't seem as under the cover of darkness or random like they often do now.

I wanna hear a guy whos with PBC & who says Keith Thurman vs Shawn Porter will be happening when weird media rumors pop off for days about a fight like that. Like when Khan said Manny was fighting him or w/e & Bob came out & shut that **** down the next day. PBC needs that. Maybe they just need to teach Haymon how to use twitter idk, but I think they want a president, CEO, head mfer of public discourse or something of PBC. If thats Schaefer or not idk, but its clearly a job no one is doing & seems a worthwhile propaganda arm for PBC if nothing else.

Read up on Schaefer, I don't feel like doing homework on the specifics right now. I don't remember all the specific things he got going (f#ck idek remember who GBP had deals with back then now), but he got a lot of money coming in at GBP via sponsors. And when he left investors left with him. He has more influence then his critics like admitting.

If PBC really needed him then I don't think they would have waited all this time for him to say" he has an itch" to come back. "master promoter"? don't they already have a front man with Dibelle?

Well he's had the non-complete clause til August so he needed to abide by that first off. And as I've mentioned I tend to think he's been advising PBC since August or there about cuz they've definitely made some improvements/smarter decisions & gotten even more active since then & he's just not taken an official role with them.

And no DiBella is just one of the main promoters who's not a guy who avoids outbursts or holds his tongue very often so he's probably just the most known right now. Tom Brown/TGB Promotions (he worked as a matchmaker for Dan Goosen for 30yrs give or take & started his own promotion upon Goosen's passing) is probably the most prolific PBC promoter still. The PBC connections are vast & wide & I don't really see a leader & certainly not a face outside of Haymon yet.

Schaefer would be a great asset to PBC & honestly I just think Schaefer is already on board with Haymon's plan (they tried to start it via a GBP buyout I think its fair to say). And lets be real PBC is never gonna have a great public face when that face is peeking out behind a curtain. They need some sort of accessible front man who speaks to the media & can be a "master promoter" of sorts for the PBC entity.

Cant really see him make a difference. After taking all of Oscar's stable I don't think he really has much left to do for haymon.
