Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Explains Genesis of the Mayweather Letter

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya caused quite a stir last week when he penned an open letter for the December issue of Playboy which was a rather scathing indictment of Floyd Mayweather's career.

While on 'the 3 Knockdown Rule' podcast with Mario Lopez, De La Hoya explained how that missive came to fruition.

That you Roger? Or is it Mayweather Sr stoping to that childish level.

Yes Oscar had problems in his past but he manned up and dealt with them.

You don't hear Oscar yapping about Floyds continuous domestic violence cases and digging deep into all go Floyds personal problems. Everyone in life has problems, Floyd acts like he doesn't..

There's no cure for wearing women's panties. The drinking and the drugs I can buy. But once you've gone freak you're a freak for life.

He does have a point, Oscar kept his trash talking strickly boxing but team mayweather couldent do that they had to act liek children.

You think oscar cant tell about loaning Mayweather money, or him beating women, or the **** allegations or any of that. Of course he can but that is too trivia and pathetic.

We dont watch oscar or mayweather for their personal lives but only for the boxing and that is what all conversation should be about.

                Move On

Time for the both of them to move on and help boxing become the number 1 combat sport not a after thought.

It's unbelievable that one guy who grossed over 750 million in revenue and a guy who did over a billion in revenue in this sport are still acting like divas.

It's a never ending story that hopefully will one day end.

TBF, I've never heard the Mayweathers try to discredit Oscars career.

Oscar's comments usually make me cringe. These comments/explanation, I'm ok with.
