While in California a few weeks ago, Jean Pascal was able to show his prowess to the famous trainer. Believing in the talent the Quebec-based boxer has, Roach agreed to coach Pascal and to help him prepare for his upcoming challenges.

Wow what a great news! (Yes, I'm a big Pascal fan) I really hope Freddy will help Pascal's balance and also improve his defense. Pascal did a great job counter punching Kovalev at their first bout but he clearly need more. The reason Pascal lost the fight is because of the Power Jab of Kovy. If he's able to avoid it and be more effective on his land shot %, he could beat him.
I did not wanted to go at Kov-Pascal 2 (I went at the first fight) because I didn't want to see my favorite boxer get beaten again, but now I might want to go! Go Pascal !

He knew he was changing trainers when the Beterbiev fight was presented to him. He also knew he wouldn't have to go thru Beterbiev to get another shot at Kovalev. Smart move on his part I guess.
